Free browser Blackjack

Play classic casino Blackjack against the dealer with a persistent play-money bank. Blackjack pays 3 to 2, the dealer stands on all 17s, and your bank and lifetime stats are saved between visits.

How to play Blackjack

Get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Hit to take another card, stand to hold, double your bet for exactly one more card, or split matching cards into two hands. Aces count as 1 or 11.

Learn basic strategy

Not sure whether to hit or stand? The built-in hint button explains the mathematically correct basic-strategy play for every hand, so you can learn optimal Blackjack while you play.

How to Play — Step by Step

  1. Click the chips to build your bet, then press Deal.
  2. You get two cards face up; the dealer gets one up and one hidden.
  3. Add your cards: 2–10 count face value, J/Q/K count 10, and an ace counts 1 or 11 — whichever helps.
  4. Choose an action: Hit takes another card, Stand keeps your total, Double doubles your bet for exactly one more card, and Split turns a matching pair into two hands.
  5. Going over 21 busts your hand immediately. Otherwise the dealer reveals the hole card and draws until reaching at least 17.
  6. Beat the dealer's total to win 1:1 — a two-card 21 is Blackjack and pays 3:2. If the dealer shows an ace, you may take insurance first.

Strategy Tips

Learn basic strategy: stand on hard 17 or higher, always split aces and eights, and never split tens. Double down on 11, and hit a soft 17. Skip the insurance bet — it favors the house. Basic strategy alone cuts the house edge to well under one percent.
